An Ecliptic Opportunity

Dear community, friends and family,

It an auspicious time! In January, I was asked to look at the coming year astrologically and I warned my audience that we were in for a ride in August and September. We are experiencing an intense Cardinal (dynamic) T-square with Pluto in Capricorn (death and rebirth of governments and leadership), Jupiter in Libra (justice and fairness), and Uranus in Aries(revolution and individual initiative), and for a while a grand cross with Venus in Cancer (emotional sensitiveness).

The planets that make up this dynamic T-square interaction are all reformist. We are in a time of great change and it’s a critical turning point.
Most pertinent now is that we’ve been experiencing two eclipses; one being called the Great American Solar Eclipse in the last degrees of the fire sign of Leo, which means the Lion. We are being called to face our fears and embark courageously on our Hero’s Journey.

Eclipses are natural phenomena showing the darkening of the Light. The Sun and Moon are aligning with the Nodal axis. Eclipses are super powerful new moons and can have huge consequences across the world. The last time that a total eclipse spanned the whole of North America was in 1776, the birth of the USA!

This Solar Eclipse on Monday, August 21st at 29 Leo (Tropical) is conjunct the fixed star Regulus, (The Star of Kings and Heart of the Lion) which has the qualities of Mars and Jupiter. It could mean just action, excessive aggression, and abundant energy. The Persians said that this fixed star punishes those who are vengeful.  We are dealing with leadership and its ramifications. Ancients associated Eclipses with the death of kings and the fall of leaders.

America is facing its shadow. We are a country that was started with slavery. We all have to look at our own darkness, our judgments and face our power.

Are there any unconscious negativity, narcissism, racism, and prejudices that you are harboring toward others different then yourself?

We have an opportunity to shed our old ways of being—all our old attitudes that keep us stuck. We are being activated to look within, be informed, unite with others, and take action outwardly. (We also have five major planets, including Mercury (thinker), retrograde and this calls for reflective thinking and inward movement.)

Eclipses may be only a few minutes of darkness and exactitude, but their influence can last for months and months. We can look beyond the chaos that is happening to our country, and know that it is part of a major frequency shift. Where it lands in our charts is where the changes will most personally affect us and where we need to set our intentions. Leo is the area of play, passion, creativity and our offspring.

The path of totality (where the Moon’s shadow hits the Earth) runs exactly across the USA, dividing the north and south and its issues. The whole world is watching the USA’s drama with a person that came to power using overwhelming personal Leo energy. Yet, now his attitudes and neurosis are blatantly in the light. Mars (Warrior) is also near this Eclipse, which adds volatility, which we have been seeing. Also in fire and forming a grand trine are Saturn (authority) and Uranus (revolutionary), which are positively affecting this Eclipse, stirring a grounded awakening and practical innovations.

In Vedic astrology, Eclipses were auspicious and negative. In a mythic story, Rahu and Ketu (the nodes) were one being who snuck into the ritual, where the Gods were being given an elixir of immortality. The Sun and the Moon noticed Rahu/Ketu, and slashed the intruder into two parts, but that was right after taking a sip. Because they had tasted immortality, they were now two halves. Rahu had the head and Ketu had the tail. The Sun and Moon are known as the nodes adversaries.

Trump was born on a Lunar Eclipse. This Eclipse is happening exactly on Trump’s Mars/Ascendant (his most personal point) and opposing the USA’s Moon. (He is at war with the people.) At the same time, transiting Saturn is on Trump’s Moon and opposing his Sun. (Signs of insecurity and feeling trapped and cornered.) Saturn will shift direction too, right on this emotional point, re-emphasizing how reality is hitting him and us. This Eclipse is shining light on his darkness. The shadow of Leo is arrogance, tyranny, pride and childishness.

One Trump supporter said, “This is politics and how politicians act.” No, this is not normal behavior for an American leader. What is also significant now is we have half our planets in fire, and many of us are fired up over what is happening in American politics.

We choose a president who promised, “to make America great again,” but it looks like what we got was chaos, immorality and shame. Come on America. Come on Republicans; stop being enablers. America’s elites are acting cowardly. We all have to stand up for what is good, moral and right.
We must be careful not to get caught up in the drama and know that love heals all and that there is a bigger game being played out in this cosmic tragedy. It is one of the ways that we are getting out of our mass unconsciousness. This time is like slashing a boil. It’s painful yet, there is a promise of healing reform and a greater good coming.

We can’t act on our anger in a vengeful way right now, for we have been warned. What we can do is awaken our heart-centered consciousness and hold the light that is being eclipsed with love. Please meditate and pray, for together we can be a part of this new consciousness arising. We’re ready for this new evolutionary step, so be open to your dreams, insights and downloads that are coming to you at this time.
