What Do You Want to Feel When You Wake Up in the Morning?

Practicing Magnetic Creation in Ordinary Life

When you first wake up in the morning, where does your mind go? Does it immediately start making a list?

I have so much to do today.
I didn't sleep well.
I'm worried about this.
I wonder what's going to happen with that.

Before you've even gotten out of bed, you may already be creating your day around what you don't want. But what if you did something different? What if, before the world has a chance to tell you how to feel, you consciously choose how you want to feel?

Direct your extraordinary creative mind, your thoughts, expectations, emotions, and beliefs to influence how you want to experience your day.

That's why I believe those first moments after waking are so important.

I'm a vivid dreamer, so when I wake up, I usually remain in bed for a while and try to remember my dreams. I listen for whatever images, feelings, or messages may still be lingering.

Then I begin my meditation. I visualize. I bring in the Radiance, which is that inner light and life force that I want to embody. I then practice Magnetic Creation, imagining through my own eyes what I truly want to desire to experience and create.

Before my feet even touch the floor, I am consciously setting the tone for my day.

I do something similar at night before I go to sleep. Rather than ending my day immersed in problems or worries, I return my attention to what I want to create.

These two thresholds, just before sleep and just after waking, have become sacred times for me.

So when you wake up, you don't have to follow my particular practice. Simply begin by asking yourself: What do I want to feel today?

Maybe you want to feel energized. Maybe you have a lot to accomplish, and you want to feel focused, productive, and inspired. Maybe you want to feel loving and connected. Or perhaps what you truly need is a peaceful day where you can slow down, replenish yourself, take a walk, read a book, or simply enjoy being alive.

Whatever you desire, take a moment and feel it before the day begins. Imagine yourself moving through an ordinary part of your day already embodying that energy.

See through your own eyes. Feel what you would feel.

Let yourself experience it now. Don’t force anything, just turn on your magnetism and draw it to you. This is an important distinction in Magnetic Creation.

You can be proactive and take action later. You can make that phone call for that appointment, or take the next step toward your dream. But creation isn't only about doing. There is also receptivity.

You  can set your intention, embody its essence, take inspired action, and then allow. No more striving that feels like pushing, straining, manipulating, or forcing life to give you what you want.  Instead, intend it. Feel it. Allow it.

And when resistance appears or those questions like “But what if this happens?” “What if that goes wrong?” appear, just you don't have to fight those thoughts. Simply notice them. Then bring yourself back to the question: What do I want?

Every time you return your attention to your desire rather than your fear, you are practicing Magnetic Creation.

So tomorrow morning before you reach for your phone, before you make your list, and before you give your attention to everything that needs to be done, stay still for just a few moments. Ask yourself: What do I want to feel today?

Choose one quality: joy, peace, vitality, love, confidence, inspiration, ease, abundance.

Close your eyes and imagine living your day from that place. Don't worry about how everything will happen. Just experience the feeling. Then get out of bed and live your day.

You don't have to create a perfect day. You are simply choosing the energy from which you will meet it. Intend it. Feel it. Allow it.

That's Magnetic Creation in ordinary life.
